Roosevelt High School senior Grant Stratton is working towards becoming a certified HVAC technician through the school’s Fall Work-Based Learning program. For the past two years, he has been working as an HVAC intern at A+ Heating and Air, honing his skills and learning the trade firsthand. Now in his final year, he is excited to complete his apprenticeship and earn his official certification after graduation.
Zach Karre, his mentor at A+ Heating and Air, has been continually impressed with Grant’s progress and has highlighted his ability to gain valuable skills and work professionally with his team and clients. Grant’s ability to balance his schoolwork while mastering HVAC trade skills speaks volumes about his dedication.
Grant’s eligibility for school credit in the Work-Based Learning program was made possible after his success in Roosevelt High’s Construction Career and Technical Education Pathway. He completed certifications in both HBI and OSHA, which solidified his foundation in construction and safety.
A special thanks to Zach Karre and A+ Heating and Air for their ongoing partnership with Roosevelt’s Work-Based Learning department. Karre’s mentorship over the past two years has been invaluable, and we look forward to seeing more students benefit from this collaboration.
