“Providing work-based learning experiences is a valuable way for students to be exposed to working with clients and completing real-world tasks. The Multimedia Graphic Design department at FRCC Larimer Campus has been involved in work-based learning since Spring of 2019.
In Fall of 2020, we launched Phase2, a student-run graphic design agency providing services to on-campus departments and off campus organizations. The MGD students named the agency based on the thought of phase 1 being education and phase 2 being the work experience.
Work-based learning has improved student confidence, provided students with portfolio pieces from real businesses and has given them the experience of working in the career field they are about to enter into. I highly recommend incorporating work-based learning opportunities for your students — the benefits are invaluable.”
